Mail Order / Telephone Order Merchants
If your mode of operation is taking orders over the phone or mail then you are considered Mail or Phone Order Merchant (MOTO). A MOTO merchant never will obtain a customer signature at the time of the sale since the customer is not face to face. descomm recommends that when shipping your product, you obtain an acknowledgement from the shipper that the package was delivered to the cardholder. If you provide a service where there is no 'hard product' then have your customer submit a copy of their driver license and front and back of the credit card to be used prior to delivery. In either case, this will protect you from fraudulent activities and potential chargebacks.

There TWO (2) choices for the Solution, Mail / Phone Order Merchants. The first would be a terminal based solution using the NURIT 2085. The other would be a web based solution using a FREE Virtual Terminal. The main difference between using a terminal based solution and virtual terminal is the costs. While the terminal based units uses electrical & telephone, the virtual terminal has a gateway and surcharge transaction fee.
